I'm taking the infusion tysabri. Most of the time, my temperature is cold, but not freezing. And then occasionally, I will just get freezing cold. And everyone else is burning up. So I don't know what's going on.

I'm you're exact opposite! Although I have always run a little warmer than average, I'm almost always in a state of panic from being so hot. I freeze people that come over to my house, or ride in my car. I'm so tired of people asking/telling me that it's menopause. That ship sailed.

I go back and forth from cold to hot. Being cold is easier for me to deal with than being hot

Why do you feel cold all the time with MS, even when others feel warm?

Feeling cold all the time is actually common with MS. Many people experience cold sensitivity, where their body struggles to regulate temperature properly. This happens because MS affects your central nervous system, which has to work harder to control your body temperature and keep everything functioning.

You're not alone in this experience. A MyMSTeam member shared: "My toes are so cold. I have been sitting at home for the last two hours, under several blankets, and yet my toes feel ice cold."

What symptoms might worsen when you feel cold?

Cold sensitivity can make several MS symptoms worse:

* Fatigue (most commonly reported)
* Muscle stiffness, cramping, or spasms
* Walking difficulties and balance problems
* Numbness and tingling (pins-and-needles, burning sensations)
* Pain in nerves and muscles
* Cognitive changes and mood symptoms

What can help?

Keep moving when possible - even simple stretches or gentle movements can increase circulation and generate internal heat. Keep your home at a consistent temperature that works for you, avoiding dramatic temperature shifts.

If you're experiencing new or worsening symptoms, reach out to your neurology team. They can help determine what's happening and suggest the best management strategies for your specific situation.
