I take 60 mg of baclofen every four hours. It's a pain, and I'm in pain if I forget to take one on time. What can I do about this?
@A MyMSTeam Member Hi! I have a Baclofen pump since Nov. 2023. I had a fantastic surgeon! And a great physiatrist who refills mine every 3 months. Your situation could be Very different. I had bad spasticity and the Baclofen pills were no longer working.
Your physiatrist can adjust the meds inside your hockey puck sized container inside your mid section. I have No complaints! My surgeon put it in my left side to keep it in away from any organs.
Mine is to the left of my belly button. Again, this is just my specific situation.
Ask a ton of questions! I was in a wheelchair Before the surgery and am in an electric wheelchair now. I've had MS for about 24 years. 3 DMT's and bladder surgeries for bladder Botox , a bladder
Stim which doesn't work for MS patients!
Anyway, the pump works Great! 🤗
Thank you so much! How many mg of baclofen did you used to take? I take 60 mg a day ever day. Ten mg every four hours, and it’s painful if I don’t remember when to take it, although my body also lets me know when I waited too long. Am I a good candidate to get a pump? Best to check with my neurologist. Although I worry that he’ll manageable, even though I say it’s not!
There are a few people on here who have one. Hopefully they’ll respond.
Have you considered a baclofen pump for managing your muscle spasms?

Tracey, please know that you'll probably get a Medtronic Baclofen pump and for future MRI's, you'll need to have a local Medtronic Baclofen pump rep meet you for the MRI and turn off your device and turn it back on after your MRI. I haven't had an MRI since I'm already at SPMS and loveww how my Baclofen pump is working.
