Metformin is an established type 2 diabetes drug currently being investigated in several clinical trials as a potential treatment for multiple sclerosis (MS) due to promising preclinical evidence suggesting it may promote myelin repair and protect nerves. It is not an approved MS treatment yet, and people should not take it for MS outside of a clinical trial setting.
They wouldn't prescribe it in usa unless you were diabetic. There may be some on here from the UK that are in the OCTOPUS trials for it.
