I just posted today that I went to the eye doctor yesterday and was told that stabbing pain in the eyes is called an ice pick headache. He told me to treat it with Ibuprofen since it had to do with nerves around the eye

I have had intense eye pressure. Thankfully it has pasted. I haven't felt that in a while. I hope yours goes away, @A MyMSTeam Member!

Optic neuritis is inflammation of the optic nerve and affects about half of people with MS at some point. The pain from optic neuritis varies - some describe it as dull and throbbing, while others experience sharp, stabbing sensations. Eye movement often makes the pain worse.
Other possible causes include:
* Trigeminal neuralgia - inflammation affecting the trigeminal nerve that runs across the face and head, causing sharp nerve pain
* Cranial nerve inflammation - damage or inflammation to nerves running across the face and head can create pressure sensations
* General neuritis - nerve inflammation that can affect various nerves around the eyes and head
A MyMSTeam member shared a similar experience: "I get this pressure in the roof of my mouth and bridge of my nose. No congestion. No headache. Not painful, just annoying. And it causes my vision to lose focus in my left eye."
