Do you experience deep pain that starts in your chest and radiates to your neck, jaw, and head?

Yes, many MyMSTeam members report similar pain patterns. One member described experiencing "sharp stabbing pain in my jaw, neck, and collarbone," while another mentioned "deep throbbing pain in my neck from time to time." Others have shared experiencing facial pain that feels like "tooth pain, face pain, a headache, ear pain, shoulder, neck, and back pain all in one."

Pain is very common in MS, affecting more than half of people with the condition. The pain you're describing could be related to several MS-specific causes:

- Trigeminal neuralgia: Affects about 5% of people with MS, causing sharp, stabbing pain in the face, neck, and jaw area
- Abnormal sensations: Nerve pain that can feel dull, nagging, burning, or prickling anywhere in the body
- Muscle spasms and spasticity: Can cause tightness and pain in the chest, neck, and shoulder areas

However, chest pain should always be evaluated promptly by a healthcare provider to rule out cardiac issues, especially when it radiates to the jaw and neck. Please contact your MS specialist or seek immediate medical attention to determine what's causing your symptoms and get appropriate treatment.
