Members responded with deep empathy to the question of why others seem to enjoy irritating someone who is already in pain, with a strong community consensus that many people simply don't understand MS because they can't see the suffering. Several members shared personal strategies for coping, including setting firm boundaries, cutting out toxic people, retreating to rest when overwhelmed, and using humor and music to protect their emotional well-being. A recurring theme was the importance of self-advocacy, surrounding yourself with supportive people, and learning about MS one topic at a time to feel less afraid.

I still say hit them in the face. You'll feel a whole lot better once their mouth is bleeding, And you can blame your brain deteriorating.

Hi Cheryl, if you want to understand what this ailment is, read articles about it and click on the ribbon if you want to save it for future reference. Go to other MS related sites and ask for information. Some of them have guides to help you get a better understanding and be a listening ear also. Like diabetes, there's so many mysteries yet many things related-I'm not going to try to wrap my head around it and neither should you. Just take things slowly, one portion at a time.

I have learned to set boundaries to protect myself from others.

In the end, it’s up to me to protect my sanity and serenity.
