I feel as if I can't stand it. I haven't told my doctor yet but I feel as if this is trigeminal neuralgia. I already have been diagnosed with MS and Essential tremors. This pain is right up there with childbirth pain.

Members rallied around someone experiencing severe facial, teeth, and jaw pain after eating, with many confirming it sounded like trigeminal neuralgia, a painful condition common in MS that several members have personally experienced. Practical strategies shared included medications like Carbamazepine, Oxcarbazepine, and Gabapentin, topical remedies like extra-strength Orajel or whiskey held in the mouth, and physical relief methods such as warm or cold compresses and an affordable drugstore night guard to prevent jaw clenching. A recurring theme was the importance of promptly communicating symptoms to a doctor, as effective treatments exist, and offering compassionate support to one another through what many described as nearly unbearable pain.

@A MyMSTeam Member suffers greatly with this. He recently stated that applying an ice cold cloth to it for a while, miraculously made it feel better!

There are two forms of TN. One is what you are describing and itโ€™s the one in MS. I just went through a bout of it. You can use extra strength oragel or a tablespoon of whiskey ( you holdi in your mouth for a couple of minutes. Itโ€™s your preference if you want to swallow.

Oh and I agree with everyone else...tell your doctor ๐Ÿ˜Š I tell my doc everything including new stuff I want to try or have already implemented. It not only helps your relationship with your doc, but helps the doc learn from you too.
