I do know others that have adult ADHD but they don't have MS I have many started but not finished tasks. I don't believe I have adult ADHD, I believe that's just the way I am. Unfortunately, while we all may have this same disease, it attacks each of us differently. There's no set rule.

I was told it's not ADHD but executive dysfunction. I was referred for cognitive therapy. We are dealing with different stages of this annoying disease. Shake it off and keep moving. I listen to Smooth Jazz to escape. Happy Saturday!

Are you experiencing difficulty completing tasks and procrastination related to MS cognitive challenges?

What you're describing sounds like executive dysfunction, which is a common cognitive symptom of MS rather than ADHD. Executive dysfunction affects your ability to plan, organize, and complete tasks - making it hard to follow through even when you start something.

Many people with MS experience similar challenges:
- Difficulty focusing on one task without getting distracted
- Trouble completing multistep tasks
- Problems with decision-making and managing complex activities
- Feeling overwhelmed by minor things

It's great that Adderall is helping you concentrate better at work - congratulations on those recognition cards! Stimulant medications like Adderall can be very effective for MS-related cognitive issues because they help your brain stay more alert and improve attention, which supports better memory and processing. Practical strategies that might help:

- Focus on one task at a time and avoid multitasking
- Create daily to-do lists to stay organized
- Minimize distractions when working on important tasks
- Keep a visible reminder system (like a pillbox in plain sight or phone reminders)
- Break complex tasks into smaller, manageable steps

A MyMSTeam member shared: "I have to make a to-do list every day, or I will forget. The list gets me up instead of lying around all day."

Regarding insurance coverage, you might consider appealing the denial or asking your neurologist to provide documentation explaining why the medication is medically necessary for your MS-related cognitive symptoms.
