I've recently been experiencing full body spasms that cause me great pain. Is this caused by MS? Should I be checked for a new lesion? I really need to know what my next step should be.
be careful with neurntin if the dosage is to high you will drool a lot a night they had my husband on a too large dose and his nuro took him off of it my doctor has talked to me trying to get me to try, I am going to Nuro in Sept and I am going to see about Baclofen again I had an allergic reaction we thought but it was the avonex so willing to try again, right now am on Valium for muscle spasms use to take flexril but it stopped working
I was having horrible spasms like you describe, especially at night. My son would come in my room to grab something and would see my arms and my legs jerking and get scared. I was only on Baclofen at the time. I would wake up in such pain and/or wake up several times a night in horrid pain. Finally doc found a combo of Topamax, Baclofen and Amitriptyline at bedtime that has nearly eliminated the problem. I sleep well at least :) Fewer spasms and mostly in my legs when I do.
@A MyMSTeam Member did you get any answers or relief? I am having the same issues and it's so bad. Getting ready to have people here for the holiday and I don't know how I will manage. Thanks!
Yes!
I also use baclofen!
Baclofen helps me with my leg pain from my muscles contracting, but when I have more than my legs doing it, the baclofen doesn't do much for me. Call your neuro and tell them whats going on!! I know my neuro nurse very well because I call and tell her everything!! LOL
