I'm 53, was diagnosed with MS at age 29 and have always (since about the age of 15) been affected by heat and hunidity. When I began pre-menopause, I wasn't sure if it was the MS acting up... but by the time I hit full-blown menopause, I knew that having MS didn't help! I've tried all the "don't eat spicy foods for dinner", "avoid coffee in the evening", and other tips for menopause (which do work, to an extent). I'm just wondering what tips for those with MS may also help!
I'm 40 and have suffered from night sweats for the last 4 years. I wear cotton to bed and keep the house very cool. Ceiling fans on and a/c at 70 or below.
A vest is good to wear while awake and walking around, but to sleep in - Nope, the CORE of my body is AFIRE ... maybe if I could swallow the vest and it would line my insides... then we're talin'! Thanks Kristin, already tried it! :-(
Shannon, I'm currently not taking ANY of the injectable drugs (and never have). So, for your question... I doubt it's the meds - I just took myself Off Baclofen as the severe muscle cramps have stopped (was on that for almost 20 years!)... and the other drugs are for
1. incontinence --> Detrol
2. fatigue --> Adderal (normatlly used for ADD or ADHD)
3. leg ailments --> Amypyra (which has helped SOOO much!
No, this lady is certain that between Menopause and MS, a rise in temp outside/or in.. like near the stove.. I am just battling an exhausting batlle!
Leslie that's me, my house stays 65-68 year round with ceiling turning. My poor hubby, after 28 years is about to adjust to the cool temp. He keeps a thick throw close by. At least our heating bills stay low, but we blow it out in the summer.LOL Everyone have a wonderful Holiday weekend
Stay Confy-Cozy, LeLee and enjoy this holiday weekend, no matter what the skies do! Just Have Fun and Be Safe!
