Living in Florida (Tampa Bay area) I have noticed this year more than others that the heat is really bothering me more than normal. Even short gardening makes me almost delusional. What tips on top of cool vests do you use to beat the heat?

Thank you everyone! In addition to living in Florida- where heat is something I can't hide from, I am going to HOT-lanta for a seminar at the END of July- PERFECT TIMING! The seminar itself is indoors, but there will be LOTS of walking from the Hotel to the buses (standing and waiting), then from the buses to the convention center (standing, waiting, walking), then from inside the convention center opening (not A/C) to my seat (more standing, walking). I get heat stroke just thinking about it! We also have classes in a separate building across the street. (I say as though its just a little walk...) I WISH! Having been last year, I am glad I know what to expect, so I can go prepared for the HEAT! Thank you again, I plan on staying COOL and level headed this year!

I have the cooling system from MSAA..it works great. It comes with a scarf, a waist pack, ankle & wrist wraps, & several ice packs. I'm also very heat sensitive.

Frog Togs are great and I use Ice cube block sheets under a thin towell, works wonders. There are many options for you. If you prefer a cooling vest which works well, the MS society does allow grants and loaners for you to try if available. Do some research as some are powered and some are bulky so when they are out of juice you may be hotter than you would normally be. I have neck wraps, wrist wraps and bandanas. I always stay hydrated and a cup of ice to refill the coolness of all that I am wearing. It helps me enjoy my days. I hope some of this is helpful, the best solutions are those you try and are comfortable with.....be well.

I haven't used a cooling vest but I do use a cooling towel put out by Frog Toggs that has really helped me this year. I just put it around my neck and over my shoulders.
