My husband SAYS he understands that I am have some TERRIBLE fatigue problems, that I hurt more often than not. the problem? He has me feeling otherwise. If I don't get much done around the house because of it all, it seems like he sometimes makes it a point to point out that this isn't done, that isn't done, etc. I don't think he means to, but he makes me feel like I am just lazy... like I don't try hard enough... It has me wondering if anyone else has the same problem at all... between 4 kids… read more

My husband is the same way. One day he asked me what I do for 8 hours while he is at work! I think I cried for hours trying to explain it was a bad day. He says he understands, but I feel like I let him and the kids down. I think they try not to see or remember we are sick because sometimes its just not visible . So when there are days it just can't be done nicely remind him it was one of those days.

I go through the same exact thing our youngest is to. So I kill myself trying to keep up on house work and laundry. We have no washer or dryer 7 people lugging it to the laundry mat and when I want to go to bed I feel like its an inconvienece. It feels like they don't want to be with you but you know what if you weren't there they'd be doing it themselves anyways right!

I realize I am very fortunate, but my husband is what keeps me going. He is constantly upbeat and always trying to find ways for me to do the things I like to do. I,e, we are looking at pontoon boats because I have trouble with the bass boat. I wish the same were true for everyone. It saddens me when I read about Partners who seem to think we with MS are lazy, whiney or otherwise a pain in the backside. Walk in our shoes......or try!

Ask him to walk with you for an entire day and see how you make out.

My husband makes me feel guilty all the time. Just the same as what you said. He tells me he understands but gripes about the house not being clean or the amount of time I sleep. Also tries to compare it to his back surgery. When he was laid up. I try to say it is not even close to the same thing. He was fixable and had surgery for a cure. Since 2006 we have gone back and forth about his lack of understanding. He does better now then back then but still gets upset sometimes. Most of the time now I just figure if he does not like it then do it yourself, I don't feel good. But the guilt does creep up on me.
I guess we need to keep reminding ourselves we are the only ones that can decide if we can get things done or if we just need to rest. And they can just get over it.
