Are you aware that there are 2 types of mono? There is the EBV mono caused by the Epstein Barr Virus (EBV) that stays in your body once you have it and can resurface at anytime, especially if you have a weakened immune system (go figure). Then, there is another virus that causes mono that is often more severe, but it does not stay with you like the EBV. It does tend to attack those that already have compromised immune symptoms and tends to show up on college campuses or in people that are highly stressed with a lack of sleep. That is the kind I had the first time. I have since contracted EBV. Many people are carriers of EBV and have no idea and never show symptoms. Some get it as children and might have a mild fever and cold or flu like symptoms for a day or two. Well, enough on that, you all have internet access. It is amazing what you can find out when you are not even necessarily looking. :-D
No!!! Thank you!
I had it at the beginning of the 9th grade and it came back on its own around Easter. I feel I never fully got over it. I also had it junior year of college!!
@MSPamela You think you experienced symptoms before 8th grade or before your dx? I am just curious if you don't mind me asking.
