Does anyone have a nerve stimulator for fecal incontinence?? Was it successful?? I'm so scared and I am single and come from a big family but no one will have anything to do me. Once I was diagnosed I lost all my friends I guess they thought they could catch it (LOL). I have taken brochures that I picked up at the doctors office and I gave them to family and friends. Dear Sassy--You sound so depressed. Have you mentioned this to your doctor? And, about the nerve stimulator for fecal incontenence, why not check it out and give it a try? I did not understand why you cannot volunteer while on long-term disability. I am unable to volunteer at this time, but I'm on S.S. disability and there's no rule forbidding volunteer activities. In the past I have tutored in the local schools and enjoyed it very much. And they are so glad to have volunteers! I liked getting out and having contact with other people. Please check it out! I'm praying that God bless you with His peace and guidance. I'm so glad you posted on this site. I just saw that by chance. And, I am going to add you to My Team! Do take care, and be in touch!

Have you checked out the NMSS website for a local therapist? I found mine there when my previous one retired. She and I worked out a fee I could afford. I pay $55 per 1 hour session. She doesn't accept my insurance, but she agreed to meet with me because she specializes in chronic illnesses, especially Lupus and MS. Once we met once, we meshed well, and she was willing to work things out so I could afford her!

I had a very helpful therapist but my insurance wont cover her and she cost $400 an hour!! Amazing isn't it! I starting seeing her when I was working and I could scrape by. Now that I am on disability and paying full cost of my insurance--things are just tough!! My primary care physician is keeping her ears open to hear if and when she has a student with her. In that case, the counseling is free! So far that has not happened. I am feeling a tiny bit better today. I take it one day at a time and honestly I was a happy person before this "problem" took over my life. Once this surgery is over, and once I get use to having a stimulator, things will get a whole lot better. Time heals!! My surgeries are scheduled for the end of August. Thank you everyone!! I appreciate the concern, the posts, and the prayers!! We all need to stick together and be there for each other!! Thanks again!!
