When moving from relapsing to progressive.......is it new spots causing new symptoms or is it existing symptoms progressing and getting worse or both. :)

There are new lesions. Also, once you have most if not all of the symptoms, old symptoms get worse. Also, there are more exacerbations/relapses with symptoms getting worse. There can be be remissions. Just not complete. It is like primary progressive it just started as exacerbating(relapsing)/remitting.

Usually you move from RRMS TO SPMS. PPMS IS SEPARATE. I don't know exact criteria but was based on lesion activity and relapses and physical damage.

<-- secondary progressive in reality. On paper r/r to be able to get on meds. No new lesions. SLOW progression of symptoms.
