I have had MS for 10 years. In 2004 they only had shots for treatments. I have been on all of them and still had progression in every MRI yearly. I usually average 3 flare ups a year, which usually are pretty severe and include losing the ability to walk without a cane, I have lost the use of my hands and suffered through many other flare up issues. I can relate to you. Early on my diagnose I refused to get steroids and other treatment. I believe in natural ways... I went gluten free, ate lots of green vegetables and brain foods, juicing, workout. I felt good no pain. After my relapse which I believe work stress caused... Family doctor beg me start treatment... I was very stubborn about not taking drugs and being a little bit psycho about natural remedies- diet, supplements, yoga etc. then 7 years later had another optic neuritis and startied betaseron. I would start another med - the disease is still there and there are drugs I think are worth trying out to help keep things in check. Just my opinion...

Aubagio is the other pill. The will have to test you for TB and your liver count. I have been on Aubagio for 5 weeks. Yes, I have had some side effects but nothing I can't handle. I did get a rash and some blisters on my inner lips. I wish you all the best. Tell your family that the meds will prevent the episode from happening. When an episode happens it's hard and fast and each one takes something else from you. The meds will help prevent that from happening. Good luck. Stay positive, it's so important.

Make decision. I didn't want to take risk by avoiding treatment, I made choose to be on Tysabri. Hope i helped with my experience. I do believe health diet and life style will give us more stability. Good luck
