Before I was dx'd with MS in 2003 I was slightly hard of hearing (HOH),it has gotten progressively worse. Does anyone else have this problem? I know about the vision, etc problems but not much written about hearing.
@A MyMSTeam Member same here makes going to restaurants and things unbearable at times. I actually have to leave and I feel so bad for who ever I'm with but I just can't take it. And I have that in meetings at work sometimes so I have to drown everyone out and then ask someone later what did they say. Really sucks
I also have times when noises seem amplified like all the noises in a group setting I hear it all together even just little back ground noises and I can't concentrate. Does anyone ever have that?
I have experienced hearing loss for sure. In the past 4 years I am constantly asking people to repeat themselves, and I have to watch movies or listen to the radio loudly to really hear what they are saying. I have not had any hearing tests though. I probably should.
I actually went to an otorologyst (I think). Well, anyway, an ear nose and throat guy. He ran many tests on my ears including pouring hot and cold water through both, then making watch flashing lights on a screen. I actually showed some nerve damage which reinforced his belief that I had MS. I still have ear pain and apparent hearing loss but I was never sure if it was from MS or just normal damage caused by loud music, etc. Don't know if that helped, sorry if I got a little long winded. :)
same here @A MyMSTeam Member its as if its so loud with a lot of noise that its painful to my eardrums. It seems to happen mostly, or is worse, in in the afternoons till early evening.
