I've been reading somewhat about the importance of us taking D3. I've been taking it along with B12. & multi vit. Not sure if I'm taking enough. I have 2000mg. I've seen post where others take a lot higher dose of D3. So I was wondering should I take 2 doses? Or just asked my dr to prescribe me a higher dose?

I took 2000 units on my own, and my Neuro gave me a rx for the same. my mom don't have ms but she takes more, says women may need more. plus if Will can stand the heat in the summer we will get enough from the sun too. Maybe in the winter we can step it up.

All MS specialists I have heard speak recommend that blood levels of Vitamin D be above 50. At one time my level was 10, and I really believe this is what "kicked in" my MS. I was taking 4,000 a day until recently when my level dropped below 50. Right now I'm taking 6000 a day. I get my level checked every 6 months.

MS people should have a blood test to determine Vitamin D -25(OH)D level twice a year: in mid April and mid October. Depending the test result one should adjust the supplementation level for next 6 months. Because I cannot attach pictures to posts or enter the table here, I will send you the picture of the table by message.

You may want have labs checked so you can see what your vit d level stand at. If it was low someone would have said whether you have a bit d deficiency.
