Brain Lesions

A MyMSTeam Member asked a question 💭
Springfield, GA

Does anyone have lesions on their brain, but none on their spine? At initial MRI, I had 4 lesions. Two years later, 8+ lesions. All lesions in parietal lobe of my brain. I Have not repeated the spinal MRI.

I have two spinal lesions and too many sub cortical brain lesions to count. My neuro says brain lesions are less debilitating, because other parts of your brain can take over for the damage parts (plasticity). Evidently the spinal cord does not have that ability, so just one lesion can cause significant problems. My experience is that brain lesions cause invisible symptoms--depression, cognitive problems, speech problems, fatigue.

i know this is an old post, but this was exactly what i was about to ask - it appears i have a lot on my brain ("inumerable lesions" according to the mri results.. consistent with a 30 year MS battle). Just got the results of my first spine and neck mri - it looks like there's none here. how is that possible? thanks to this thread, i know i'm not alone. thanks
