Anyone Stopped Taking Amypra? What Are Your Experiences Before And After Stopping.

I've been on Amypra over 2.5 years. At first, I felt it was doing something positive for me ... not so much now. I asked by neurologist what to do ... he told me to stop taking it and I would be able to figure out within days if it was helping or not. Anyone who might be able to share what happens with and without amypra, I'd greatly appreciate your insight ... I've read volumes of info online ... thanks

I truly believe that Ampyra does nothing. I took it for 2 years with no improvement, in fact my walking got worse. Exercise. Even just standing and walking across the room helps. Mind over matter works. Be strong. There is no cure. But don't give up. Doctors and pharmaceutical companies push us to take these drugs. They make out like bandits. Believe in yourself.

Well....I stayed off Amypra for 6 days and my walking deteriorated to the point I was on the floor more than standing...it wasn't Purdy .. trust me ...my legs, feet, arms, elbows are suffering from the assault of the tile floors ... ouchie momma!!!!

So I've been back on Amypra now for 3 days, and I certainly notice a HUGE difference in my walking, my gait, my balance and my visits to the floor ... zero falls since I went back on this drug. Who'd of thunk it ..week ago, I would have bet it wasn't a drug necessary ... ohhh silly me ...

@A MyMSTeam Member I use both ... mostly a cane, unless I'm going out for a sustained period of time, then a rollator, so when I get tired, I just sit for a little while then continue on.
