Saw a new nuero today (had to change because my health ins changed) and he is questioning whether or not I have MS. He asked me to get my old doctors notes back to my DX in 2001 and copies of old MRIs. He said it sounded like I might have a condition that mimics MS or have progressed to secondary progressive because I have worsening symptoms. He's ordering an MRI and sleep test. I get retested every time I switch doctors or they get stuck, because my brain scans are unimpressive. But my LP is definitive. You need to keep copies of all your tests. It's so discouraging to have to start over all the time!
Be happy not annoyed @A MyMSTeam Member. A good Dr should always do tests to rule out any other cause of symptoms. It seems he is questioning if your old Dr did so. Here is a link to all the possible mimics.

Is the test a blood test? NMO antibodies? I had never heard of it until I started seeing this MS specialist. I had the test done, came back negative!
@A MyMSTeam Member just got another opinion the others day. He said she doesn't have ms either .
LP is lumbar puncture. Neuro reviewed all my results and said definite MS. Switched to tecfidera 5 months ago. So far its been good.
