Hello all I realize I've had MS for 24 yrs but last night at work I started having flashes of light in my left eye, when I was leaving this morning I now see an"apostrophe" in the center of the same eye. I have decided to sleep for a few hours and see if that helps. So my question is " has anyone else had this type of symptom… read more
Yes, I've seen flashing lights--bright, white lights, especially when my eyes were closed. My neuro-ophthalmologist told me it was caused by my Optic Neuritis (ON). The flashes lasted about a week.
You should call your neuro ASAP--the 'apostrophe' you see is worrisome, and vision is so important. Steroids might be in order.

Besides floaters, I have flashes of light on and off! Usually proceeds a migraine ' I take Advil and it usually goes away in 20 min or so!
I have them too and my Neuro Opthalmololgist tole me they are called Migrane Aura. I don't get Migranes just the Aura. They come and go but don't cause any problems.
Yes that was a symptom I had when I was first diagnosed. The doctor should do an evoked vision test. : ) of course I am not a doctor but that is what they did to me.
Yes. Not so much anymore but I used to see light with my eyes closed. I also had a light travel from the bottom of my eye to the top and disappear.
