Horizant is the extended release version of Neurontin.. Lasts for 24 hours. Neurontin works on spasticity and nerve pain.. Baclofen tends to be a little more for spasms and Neurontin more for pain..but both are good, effective drugs.
Tried the Horizant and it knocked me for a loop. I was loopy for 2 days after taking 1 pill. Switched to Baclofen and doing much better. I use it mostly at night since that is when I have the most spasticity and I don't feel foggy in the morning.
What is horizant .
No I have used Baclofen and works well.
I started taking it about a month ago.. seems to take some of the edge off of the leg pain/spasm but has not made it go away.. it did cause some drowsiness the first couple weeks, but not so much now.. the big benefit for me is taking one pill (horizant is extended release) a day vs multiple Neurontin per day.. There is another similar drug Gralise that is also extended release..
