Well, it definitely happened to me. 30 years of a mild course of the disease, 3 months on Copaxone, discontinued due to an allergic reaction, and then almost immediately/with a few months I had developed not only new lesions but actually a number of black holes, contributing to significant cognitive problems I had never experienced before. I am thinking that we need better protocols for coming off DMD, whether by choice or because of an allergic reaction, lymphopenia or other negative side effect?

I stay on DMD to decrease my risks of a relapse. I think the people that quit the DMD drugs are ill informed. That is why they make them, to decrease your risks of relapse, but many chance it and go,without them. I hate it she I see posts from people who end up with a relapse because up they quit their DMD. All have side effects, just need to find one that works best. Tec is a good drug, just get your lymphocytes checked often.

@A MyMSTeam Member , @A MyMSTeam Member I don't think the copaxone has done anything for me . Like I mentioned earlier I was off it 2 yrs and I didn't get worse or better, no new lesions, etc. I went off it because I was tired of being a pin cushion and the burning, stinging, sore knots. Im thinking about stopping again.

i have been off drug fo approx 6 months hoping to go back on gylenya soon.
So far not noticing to much difference but at same time do not want to find out the hard way.my neuro told me my Immune system will be running rampant without having a disease modifying drug

I stopped my copaxone for 2 years. Nothing bad happened, nothing changed at all. I dislike those irritating shots. Thinking of stopping copaxone again.
