My doctor initially thought that I had transverse myelitis until I had my MRI done. Then he flat out said it was MS. So I think I may have transverse myelitis-but it is caused by the MS.
I was dx with Transverse Myelitis manifesting itself as R/R MS. In other words, both sides of my spine were affected by MS which led to both sides of my body having symptoms.

My doctor originally diagnosed me with transverse myelitis as well. I had just 1 large leison in my spinal cord. After I developed another leison the diagnosis changed to MS due to the fact that there was multiple leisions. Hope this helps.
