Just heard that the rules changed in NJ to eliminate the income requirement for the Home Based waiver program that would allow the disabled to stay in there own home in lieu of going in to a home. I believe that MD has a similar provision? I qualify for nursing home care via the medicaid program but want to stay in my home. I wonder if it would be worth moving to MD or NJ to be able to take advantage of this?
Thank you for your response; unfortunately PA has an income requirement and I'm a few $100 above that.
Everyone, and I mean everyone will come to this fork in the road. I see healthy aging people get to make a quick decision when the memory goes. I believe if you can, then you should stay, now this is a real big decision, for me I am independent right now and I have help to support me, but when it all changes, me I want to have this offered to me. Right now I am at the other end. Stay home if you can.
