Since I started the 40 mg of Copaxone 3 times a week as opposed to 20 mg Copaxone every day... not thrilled with shots but I handle it. my main concern is since the change over the past few months I experience hives occassionally at other injection sights... I got a shot in my left arm and my left him welted up as well as my left arm getting additional hives around it... sometimes its worse the others, I just take benedryl and go to bed... anyone else experience this?

I've been on Copaxone every day for 17 years. Last March had a major "hive" reaction. About the size of a hand. Turned deep purple in the middle. Whole leg turned "bruised" and swollen. Burned as if I had a chemical burn.... for a couple days. Went to ER.. wanted to give me Vicodin but refused. It later turned into what looked like a "blood" clot a couple days earlier and moved to the surface as a "scab". About the size of 2 quarters. Became a huge wound and the last scab finally came off in June. Then a week later happened on my stomach. It same thing happened and lasted until October. I have horrible White scars with black ring around it. They(MS doctors" didn't do anything about it.... I forced them to look at it. No cream, prescription....just sent me on my way. They did switch me to Gilenya in August. I wish I could post the pics here..... Pretty bad!

I had that happen with hives and burning skin. I called my doctor and she had me do it next in her office. I then went into anaphylactic shock. I broke out in hives, skin turned red, my face and lips swelled. Throat got tight and I passed out. I was taken by ambulance to a hospital. Please call your doctor before your next shot. It sounds like you developed an allergy to it. It injected with Copaxone for a few months before this happened.

My daughter was on Copaxon and broke out every night with hives for 6 months even after she stopped the shots. Benadryl was the only answer. Now on Tecfidera.
