I lost my sense of smell a few yrs ago (thank you MS=NOT). I just finished burning something in the microwave, and the smell lingers probably because it MUST STINK (it is smokey in the room).
Any ideas to share, as I am probably not the ONLY person who has lost their sense of smell.
I usually set timers and such, but THOUGHT this would not burn as quick as it did.... HELLLPPP!!
LOL SandiFrazire, I rely on my family for smell ALSO. I can smell STRONG things, but I canNOT identify ANY smell either. You poor thing=the offensive smells ugh
My smell has also been affected. It's not gone, just highly unreliable. Everything smells different and often offensive. I rely on expiration dates and the snouts of my family :)
@ becmb3 THANK YOU :-)
becmb3 My living situation is that I live in apartment below my parents house (they are in their 70's). I just HATE not being able to smell things that I need to, for safety sake.
I started this thread, so I could get some pointers AND so others could speak of THEIR "missing senses" and how they have adapted to ensure safety.
becmb3. I LMAO at the canary reference!!!! After 5-7 yrs, I know my smell is not coming back. Weird thing is I can smell SOME things--sorta.
