Important question as I go to the dentist today at 2pm
I have Primary Progressive Multiple Sclerosis and have a swallowing issue, tongue issue. Eating normal foods is near impossible. And my teeth are breaking off in several spots. My question really is - does anyone have dentures? Have they helped in respect to your MS in any way
Looking for quick advice.
Would have asked sooner but my memory is not the best and I was just reminded of the appointment this evening *ugh*
Thanks for any… read more

Well update ladies. I am getting all teeth pulled under sedation and going to start the process of fittings and such starting January 6th.
I'll keep you posted.
Seems the dentist agrees that this is Infact the best answer. (Incase anyone else is wondering if they should ask about it).
God bless you all for your help and your support and encouragement.
So another MS adventure begins!!

I was so happy to see your post, because in the past year, I have had teeth crumbling and literally breaking into pieces. I was told it was related to the medication I take for MS. I started out RR, then secondary progressive, now this past Friday, I was told I am now primary progressive. Thank you for sharing your info!!!

@A MyMSTeam Member Ted was talking about teeth grinding. It was suggesting him to try a night guard.

@A MyMSTeam Member grinding my teeth isn't the issue. I've lost mostly all molars now. I'm on a mainly liquid diet. The dentist and my doctors feel this is the best choice for me. So I'm going to take their advice. Anything that can remove even SOME of my pain .... Is worth it to me.
To have no more cold or hot sensitivity and be able to eat ice cream again would be wonderful!! And no more exposed nerves and broken teeth. The benefits in my case out weigh the negatives that some may feel. But it's nice to know I have the support here. Thanks everyone!!!
