Constipation ran in my family even before I had MS
welcome to my team and at least you can walk I'm relearning how to do that and I used to stand alot, it really bites but I am taking it a day at a time cause you never know if the next day is coming.
@A MyMSTeam Member I had bowel/gas problems for years. Have had MS for 25 years and not once did my doctor do a thing. I posted this before.... I typically don't listen to the "quick fixes" from Dr. Oz but one time I was listening while working. He was saying something about not being able to lose weight due to not being regular. I have had to use laxatives for years!I've also had always had weight problems. The show was called, "the Naked Truth". He talked about carrying around 15 pounds if you are not regular. It was actually about overweight people. I wasn't obese by any means but I found it interesting. He suggested Forskolin and Banaba Leaf(tea, i use capsules) They are herbs. It's a miracle drug!!!! I take it 2 times a day. I get it on Amazon. The Forskolin extract has to be 50mg of active forskolin and Banaba leaf 450mg. I take them before meals. I am regular and not gassy for the first time since I can remember! I told my MS doctor about it and he said, "oh yeah, we prescribe Foskolin to patients for many things". Thanks for telling me after 17 years! You will find many Forskolin adds for "weight loss" but that is NOT why I am taking it though I have lost some weight and maintained the same weight over the past 2 years. Mention it to your doctor. My MS doctor approves and prescribes it to others! Miracle drug!!!! Take care of the problem sooner than later.... because I had the problem for so long and took laxatives, it made my colon small and when I became regular....well it did some damage and had 3 rectal surgeries in 15 months. I had fissures, (tears) that wouldn't heal, finally sphinterectomy(sp) they had to made "it" bigger! LOL But I feel better than ever now that I don't have the bowel/ gas problem. No longer the "tooter polluter" that my nieces and nephews called me.
I am on tec and noticed that for the first few months.
@A MyMSTeam Member Hope I wasn't too graphic! LOL
Thank you Mary.
