@A MyMSTeam Member, That's good that all of your other illnesses are under control, it's definitely not easy balancing everything together and then getting MS thrown in there too. I forgot to ask though are you taking a DMD for your MS? I am on Tysabri, a monthly infusion that keeps me from having severe flareups, I've been on it for about seven years now, and thankfully I am still JCV virus negative. My worst symptom is fatigue among the many other annoying symptoms I have. I haven't had a severe flareup since I've been on this drug, I still have all of my residual symptoms from my past flares, but I thank God I'm not blind, Iam able to speak, and I can still walk, maybe with not as much strength, but at least I can.

I suffer with terrible vertigo, seems MS can cause this. My neuro said it was more about the location of the lesions not the number of them. hang on it can improve with time :]

@A MyMSTeam Member, I have a brain stem lesion also, and like you my vision became blurred after my first diagnosed relapse of my MS, and my vision never returned to normal. I get a new eyeglasses Rx every year, and that helps clear up my vision, without my glasses everything is blurred. I also get vertigo/syncope out of nowhere, I could be sitting down using my Ipad, and then all of a sudden Get a sensation like my whole body is moving down and then back up to the right and it is very scary, all I can do is lay down and wait for it to pass, my neuro said it is definitely a symtom of my MS and is common, she called it some kind of "migraine" I forget what the term is exactly, due to my MS effects me Alot cognitively. You sound like you have a lot of additional issues, like your hypertension and diabetes, so I would think you would have to rule out first if your vertigo is a symptom of high or low blood sugar, or high blood pressure both can also cause you to feel dizzy. Check your blood sugars often and take your insulin accordingly at the times a day your doc has told you, if you eat approximately the same types and amts of food everyday that helps maintain your blood sugar and helps to avoid extreme highs and lows. If your blood sugar is high all the time, your kidneys will attempt to bring your blood sugar down and cause you to urinate more often, which if you're not care ful you could get dehydrated and you could become dizzy. Also cardiac meds can dehydrate you also because with heart disease the heart cannot fully circulate the blood and edema and fluid congestion can occur. So, some patients take a diuretic along with their HTN meds. High blood pressure can also make you dizzy. So it's like playing detective to what is causing your symptoms, I reccomend checking your blood pressure everyday, and following a diabetic diet by watching carbs, follow your endocrinologists orders and keep a food diary. Keep checking your blood sugar and try to do about the same amt of activities everyday , because exercise also helps bring down blood sugar. It's all a big balancing act. Hope you feel better : )
