Does anyone have issues keeping weight on. I am finding my diet is becoming more limited over time and now I keep losing weight. Currently I am at 102lbs and can not afford to lose any more. I started back up exercising and am on a high protein diet but it's not working. Any suggestions is appreciated.
I struggle keeping weight on often. I do find eating peanut butter by the tbsp and an avocado a day helps a little, Good Luck!
@A MyMSTeam Member it was a nutritionist that put me on the protein diet and she said to continue to exercise to build the muscles again. She said that this is the best way to compliment both, instead it is doing opposite.
I have always had a weight problem. I was always heavy, not real bad but never "thin" and had to work at it. Recently I have found I have been losing weight over the years. I eat a lot! Recently people have been stopping me and asking if I'm ok because I'm skinny. They thought it was my MS. I never thought about it and then I thought about my brother. He was parilyzed in a car accident. He was in the Marine Corpse and was the "heaviest" he had ever been. His vetabrea pretty much "exploded" and they had to rebuild his back. He was told 99.9% chance he'd never walk. Well, he worked hard and taught himself to walk. Since then he has been very thin..... and ate a lot. I always knew it was because he used up all his energy, calories just focusing on walking. I thought to myself maybe that was why I am now thin. It is harder to walk and I notice that I have to focus more on walking. Probably using up more energy doing the "normal things" people do everyday and don't have to work at it like I do. I've been trying to eat more so I don't waste away. However, in my case, I like the fact that I am thinner. It shocks me when someone says I am "skinny". I was never called skinny before. I still am working at eating more and healthy so I have more energy. Just a thought.
@A MyMSTeam Member, thanks. Worst part of dealing with the nutritionist is that she knows nothing about MS ppl and the best process. She gave me all the info already, but the problem is I can not digest a lot of carbs or fats which is the other half of the problem.
Yes, I too have lost a lot of weight and am getting concerned now. I started out at around 138 and am now down to 110. Nothing fits me as it all looks like it is falling off of me...well actually it is. I haven't been 110 since I was 19...it worries me if it doesn't stop...
