LDN is my ONLY M.S. drug. Highly recommend it.

My neuro prescribed it for me. He calls it a placebo and won't acknowledge any studies that have shown some benefits from it. He would prefer me to try whatever the latest med for ms is. I have no health insurance and am happy to continue with the LDN over many of the more expensive drugs with all the side effects. I'm just happy he continues to prescribe it even though he does not really approve of it. Yes, LDN is a compounded drug. I use Irmat Pharmacy in NY. I believe they are no longer doing it though. They still do it for me since I have been getting mine there since 07'. Skip's Pharmacy in FL does it for many who have ms. I also am part of a group on Facebook that talks about the benefits of LDN for thyroid disease. They are a wealth of information and they believe that LDN should be started at a very low dose and then upped if necessary. I started on 3.5mg and moved up to 4.5mgs within a year. I did not know much about it then. However, I did improve a great deal within the first year. I still struggle with the ms and thyroid disease. It's not a cure or miracle drug, but it seems to help a great deal.

After reading a load of research and articles re LDN I did find a doc who was prescribing it and began taking
3mgs. two years ago. I have primary progressive ms and since there is no prescribed tx thought this was better than nothing. I have been doing pretty well, I walk, do pilates, yoga, and try to stay active. Think LDN keeps my mood steadier and can't tell if if it's altering the progression or not. But........I feel like im doing something proactive.

I have customized that bit of OMG after having my allergy tests. I am sensitive to wheat, pork, unfermented cow's milk and few other things. so I have modified my diet to exclude these things, not all meat and dairy and gluten containing products.
I also know that a bit of cheating diet -wise is OK in times when I am generally well (e.g. summer) - but in winter, or when otherwise poorly, I really have to be strict not eating wheat, pork and unfermented dairy.
I also try to keep my daily intake of saturated fats is under 15 g/day. For that the MyFitnessPal app is a real godsend = because you just scan the food and aenter the amount of food and the app tells you how much saturated fat is in it. Saturated fat intake has more long-term effect on MS progress.
About meditating I am a real failure - have tried many times but because I feel that I should be using my time for something more useful, I don't manage to do it.
Perhaps you could give me some pointers how did you get yours going.
BTW, I hope you have your Vitamin D tests twice a year - 15 and Apr and Oct?

LDN and vitamin D3 are the things I take for my MS. Together with diet and physical exercise - they have kept me relapse free since I started with LDN 10 years ago.
