I saw my neurologist yesterday and he said I don't have any lesions on my spine which do not explain the leg weakness, incontinence,or spacticity. Can't you still have these symptoms without spinal lesions?

@A MyMSTeam Member Did he say "no new lesions"? Did you ever have lesions on your spine? They seem to like to say, "nope, no new lesions", neglecting that you did have them in the past. My worst, 25 years ago, were in my c-spine and were pretty big. I feel the symptoms I had when I had my 1st episode and it was determined to be those lesions. They are not as severe now but I feel them more when worn out. I don't think my symptoms ever totally went away, just a lot less noticeable and I learned to live with it. Also, most don't notice... but I lost the use of my left arm and hand when diagnosed, it is still curled up. No new lesion but it curls up more and I have a difficult time writing at times. I hope you get some answers.... I know how it feels when these symptoms cant be explained by a new MRI. It's not in your head....

Wow! I am describing you (and me), do you ever wonder if the doctors know what they are talking about?

You sound like you are describing ME to a T. I have no lesions in my back, but I do have Degenerative Back Disease. Only lesions are in my brain. EXTREME weakness, incontinance especially at night, spacticity. I guess it is from the brain.

Thank you @A MyMSTeam Member for your answer, you have a point. Regardless of what the neurologist says I DO have symptoms in my legs....lesions or not!

My answer is very simple! 1: do you have these symptoms? 2: do you have lesiins in your spine? If the answer to number 1 is yes and the answer to number 2 is no, I think you've answered your own question!

MRIs do not provide all the answers. The human brain is an amazing thing! For better or worse, if it's bothering you, treat it!
