Has anyone had a problem with having absolutely no energy? I cannot get enough sleep! Has anyone tried B12 shots to help with this? If so, did it work?
I have always had a problem like yours never enough sleep and horrendous fatigue. My Neuro at the MS Clinic in Toronto, Ontario prescribed Modafinil. I have found that that helps however I can't take it after two o'clock as I can't sleep, but it does help if I take it in the morning
Interesting. It is important that you and your doctor work together and watch for side effects. The subliminal B12 sounds interesting as well.
Fatigue is the cardinal symptom of MS. Your bodies are struggling to relay messages to the brain with impaired or nonexistent myelin.
Don't put any more stress on yourself. When you see a chair rest, try to do a little bit of something not everything in one day. If you go food shopping, for instance sit down after the freezer products go in. The rest can wait.
Organize, organize, organize.
Get your clothes ready for the week, think about what you are going to wear. Make sure your keys, glasses, wallet are always in the same place.
These are the tricks of successful busy individuals not just those who cope with ME.
Good luck from a former social worker whose family members have lived successfully with ME since 1975
I'm sleeping 8hrs a night and wake up so tired, I'm using provigil twice a day which does help but still have to take breaks
@A MyMSTeam Member I take Amantadine for fatigue and it has helped me stay awake during the day and given me a little more energy during the day. I have not had any side effects from it. Hope it can help you.
Sorry, wanted to add... Any side effects such as drowsy, dizzy and loss of appetite. I just feel woozy all the time.
