My first real relapse lasted a few weeks. The relapse I was going through when I got diagnosed lasted a couple months.

In my case I've had symptoms that are brought on by fatigue or stress. These are different than actual exacerbations. I have only had one major exacerbation in which I lost muscle control in one of my feet, was having minor seizures, and vertigo. In that case the vertigo and loss of muscle control lasted for maybe a month. The minor seizure episodes lasted for about a year before I was able to go off medication for them.

My daughter had a few relapses sometimes only a few weeks other times a couple of months. But for her, her symptoms subsided. You are right everyone is different. Keep positive and push yourself to do things. I hope everything works out for you.

My last major relapse was June 2013 and it took me 6 months to recover. Still have the side effects. Taking gabapentin and Copaxone since February 2014. Thank you for our dog Harley the Great Dane 😉for I walked him every day I still get mini attacks 😢. Good luck!

My relapses can last a couple of months, unfortunately. I gradually gain back most functions over the next 12 months. My Neurologist told me that it can take that long to gain back after a relapse, but I know everyone is different. I also have permanent problems after years of MS and many relapses, but I know it could be much worse. Just my own experience.
