My neurologist has completed all testing and has stated that I may begin the processes for applying for SSI permanent disability.
He stated to begin with the National MS Society.
However, I'm still not sure where to begin. Can someone help me find all my financial options as I am no loner able to work. I am currently receiving California Temporary disability.
Thank you for your time.
I simply went to my local Social Security office and was approved within 4 months. Get the process going as soon as possible as there is a "waiting period". You don't need to pay an attorney. The SS people are awesome. They'll walk you through the process, provide the forms for your doctor and even assist with getting you enrolled in Medicare. Good luck.
Try Binder and Binder ssi advocates they got me approved
Thank you. Keeping my fingers crossed.
CoolLioness I filed in Oct. 2012 and have been denied 3 times. I got a lawyer after my first denial. I went in front of the judge in may of last year and was denied 3rd time. So we filed another appeal in June of last year and just heard from them the 4 of this month they gave us 25 days to get everything in. So as of this past Friday we are just waiting on there decision. It is absolutely crazy.
I wish I had help when I first applied for my disability in 2012. Iam still in appeals with them. Take all the help you can get. Good luck.
