I have been feeling a bit dizzy when I am walking around. Especially when I turn my head. A bit of a zappy feeling when my feet hit the pavement. Its not all the time but I have been noticing this throughout the day at different moments. Am I being a hypochondriac? My MS has been quiet for more than a year.... should I be concerned with this? Perhaps its just a stress related thing? Confused.

Members responded with empathy and personal experience to someone wondering if dizziness and a 'zappy' feeling while walking could be MS-related or just stress. Several members shared that similar symptoms, including balance loss when turning the head or standing up, were part of their own MS journey, with some noting symptoms only appeared after long or tiring days. A recurring theme was the importance of reporting new symptoms to your neurologist, listening to your body, and finding peace in the ups and downs of life with MS.

Well said! I truly believe having MS has been a very humbling experience. I appreciate more than I ever did in life, and just seeing the sunrise makes the day a wonderful one for me :)

Sorry Dizzy that you are experiencing this. I know how "shocking" it feels. In fact, as a former electronic tech I can relate to the feeling of being zapped and as a primary progressive ms I deal with it 24-7, but it's comments like Dee2014 that that help me make it to another sunrise without going bonkers.

I think a positive mental attitude is the #1 medicine. I take Rebif, took Tegretol for a couple years for MS related seizures, and took Gabapentin for a few years for some skin sensitivity that was making me unable to swim which I love to do. I think keeping your doc in the loop is a very important thing to do but I also feel stronngly that you have to do what is right for you and learn how to listen to your body. MS is not going to kill you but it is going to make it to be uncomfortable in your own skin. For me it came to learning that a state of "normal" is in fact a fluid experience and i found great peace in realizing that somedays I will feel like I can climb a mountian and some days a trip to the kitchen will be tough and both are ok and valuable experiences.
