I have been on Glatopa for about 3 months now and I hate it. It stings a lot longer than Copaxone, the lumps are larger and actually so painful I can't stand anything touching them, not even my jogging bottoms. It feels like I've been burnt. The itching I get at the injection site is maddening and my fingers and toes swell up. I find myself having to force myself to have my injections..it's a daily fight. If it wasn't for my friend encouraging me to inject (nagging) I'd ignore the jab completely. I hate Glatopa! I truly miss Copaxone!

I really wanted to go with the new 3x a week Copaxone, but my insurance would not cover it, since they were waiting for the generic daily one to come out. Oh well...

Now that I have been using the Glatopa for about a week, here are my observations: the syringes etc. are very similar to the Copaxone ones (still made of glass, come pre-filled and need to be refrigerated). I did have to use a different auto-ject that was made specifically for the new syringes. I guess they were just different enough from the old ones. Can't say I like the new auto-ject as well. You have to push it against you a bit harder to get it to engage and fire when pushing the button. Other than that, works like the old one. Also the new packaging the syringes come in is a big wider than before, so they won't fit in the plastic travel cases I had from Copaxone.

Now for the important part. No new side effects so far, other than it seems like it 'stings' a bit longer after injecting. Might be me just imagining it though. No red spots are unusual swelling, so my body must be ok with the filler they are using. I'm going to knock on wood and say fortunately I've never had the post injection reaction they warn you about (heart starts racing etc.). None with the new stuff, so let's hope it stays that way.

As long as I can stay relapse free, I'll be happy.

I'll be getting my fist shipment tomorrow. Have about 5 regular copaxone shot left, so I would be starting until next week sometime. Will post how it goes.

I just started Glatopa. I have a lot of injection site pain too, for about 1.5 hours it sucks. I asked my doctor sense I just literally found out I ha MS ands just started this treatment and they told me there is a new generic coming out from Comaxone, that is 3 times a week and I am moving to that soon, that is as soon as Kaiser works out the authorizations which they said should be in a few months. I am glad to hear this drug might be painful. You should ask about it to. Its a double does 3 times a week.
