I have a happy, healthy 10 month old. There has been a lot of research re: MS, pregnancy and our babies. Most people go into remission when they are pregnant. The real issue is postpartum, as the hormone changes can cause an episode. My neuro and I had a postpartum plan. Make sure you see the best MS specialist you can. Not all neuros are the same. I was able to avoid any new symptoms or episodes and am now considered in the clear.

I was diagnosed the year after my first child was born. I then had two more children but spread out over 10 years. I had rough pregnancies and I think they took a toll. I had mild exacerbations after. Definitely worth the benefits of my 3 amazing sons.

Congratulations are in order even though I'm super late. My neuro does specialize in ms so hopefully he can do for me what you had done for you I.e, planning and such. I guess I need to figure it out once I get to that point. I just need to get rid of my anxieties about everything.

You can safely get pregnant and have a baby with MS. You would have to stop taking the MS medication before conceiving. Every drug has different requirements. The interferon must be out of your system for 3 months prior to trying. I think Aubagio can stay in your system for a year and may need to be removed if you are trying to get pregnant. Not sure about the other medications. When I was trying to conceive, I was on Copaxone and was able to inject up until I tested positive for pregnancy. I then stopped Copaxone when I was pregnant. Definitely ask your doctor. I felt great during pregnancy and didn't relaps after having my daughter. Everyone is different. I had my daughter 8 years after my diagnosis. She is healthy. I also had her when I turned 40.
