Has anyone worked out with a cooling vest? What kind of cooling vest would anyone recommend for working out?
My cooling vest helps with my fatigue if I have to be out in the heat. There's a new product out. It's a towel you wet and it stays cool for 2 hours. I'm going to try it out tomorrow at my son's football practice.
I didn't know these existed! Thanks for the info @A MyMSTeam Member. I do crossfit and find that I get exceptionally shakey after a workout. My doctor recommended taking a Tylenol prior to excessive working out too (and staying hydrated of course). Hope that helps!
Hello, I do not have the answer to your question but did like that you were curious about this because I am also. In the heat I have cognitive issues and fatigue. I was going to buy one last week but had no idea they were that expensive.. When you google search free cooling vest though you will see there are a few companies that will send them for free if you meet their criteria in the applications. I'm currently filling out an application for the MSAA (Mulitple Sclerosis Association Of America) Cooling Distribution Program. Hopefully I can get a vest soon and have an answer to your question for the vest.
But I will say this- I have been carrying around a frozen bottle of water when I have to go outside for a bit. Constantly taking sips of the freezing water has cooled my body down and I haven't noticed issues yet. I've only been doing it about a week though.
I used the cooling towel and it did work!
Let us know how the towel works and where to get it please. My granddaughter just took me to the store and it is 108 degrees. It will be triple digits til end of October:(
