Bronx, NY

I recently purchased a bottle of nutritional supplements called "Myelin Sheath Support". Now my question is.. Did I purchase Snake Oil or is anything worth a shot. Just got on Tecfidera a month ago. DX almost 2 yrs ago. I can go back 13 yrs accumulating minor slight symptoms until the MS hit me like an avalanche 2yrs ago. So I'm kind of new to this verses someone who has way more experience with battling this monster. Any feedback would be gratefully appreciated. Thanks!

I started taking pure Biotin at high doses which may help repair myelin. I'm taking 100 milligrams 3 times a day. Way above the RDA, which is something like 10,000 micrograms. I'm on it for about a month and a half and at this point, I'm peeing less (a huge quality-of-life benefit) and I've been transferring better. There was a study done in Fance on Biotin. If you want more info, there's a Facebook page - Biotin for Progressive MS that has all the details. When I joined a few months ago, there were under 100 members, now we're over 1,800. It's a great community with everyone sharing their experiences.

I take olive and cocoanut oil. I've done some reading on this stuff and figured, why not. Has many benefits. Also vitamins D3 s very important. I'm willing to bet that a lot of people with MS don't get enough sun resulting in low vitamin D. Simply because people with MS have a hard time dealing with the heat and the sun. Sort of a catch 22 issue.

@katrinaShartcake - no, the Biotin does not keep me up, not that I sleep well all the time, anyway.
As per instructions, I take 100mg 3 times a day. I purchased a smidgen spoon from Amazon (which I hear is app 100mg). For complete instructions, check out Biotin for Progressive on Facebook.

@A MyMSTeam Member does the biotin give you insomnia? The b vitamins give me insomnia! I have trouble sleeping but when I take my b's it's way worse.
