Lately I have noticed that when I feel stressed I have problems swallowing, not choking on food per say, but more like I have to think about it, like I've forgotten how to do what should be natural. It happens after a stressful situation or after an extremely physical day at work. Sometimes a headache comes on at some point too. Anyone else have a symptom triggered by stress or too much physical exertion?

You probably already know this, but drop your chin to your chest when swallowing to ease the tension when trying to swallow. Also, for me, taking individual sips, one at a time, makes swallowing easier. Don't gulp liquids. It usually will make you gasp, which make the whole thing worse. I've practiced these methods, and my swallowing had really improved over the years. Also, when I'm stressed, I feel severe pain throughout my spine. All my best for you. :-)

Stress is our worst enemy. It can cause a relapse in a heartbeat.
I tend to get massive migraines that affect my speech and balance, more excruciating pain all over (more so then usual) anxiety, high bp, you name it....the list just keeps going....
Try to avoid stress at all costs...I know, easier said then done...but...mind over matter....

Stress causes me to get a burning pain in my shoulder. It's usually what alerts me that I'm actually stressed!

I think this of swallowing & breathing issues part is definitely the scariest of all the symptoms. I've had to put off even planning an appointment because insurance will be changing soon. I've an idea any neurologist would expect testing for cause of these kinds of issues to determine cause to determine effective method of treatment, possibly therapy.
