When the fatigue hit at it's worst for me when I was 23, it felt exactly as you describe it, like a fog creeping in...within less than an hour after waking. I would have to be physically active to remain even halfway aware of anything. A friend of mine tells me back then I would be out like a light, all while holding a cup of coffee! I never drank coffee until then. I learned to develop a strict routine for everything from where I placed my keys to setting schedules and writing things down. Short term memory is fried without a chain of association. I would never advise anyone to fight thru fatigue. 15 minute naps are very helpful.
I just had the same question in my head! Holy Moly!! I rest and or take naps, but never get fully revived! It's hot today and that certainly increases fatigue for me. I often have a late afternoon coffee if I need to push through and be somewhat functioning!! It's funny, cause when sun is setting and air shifts again I often get a little revived. Does that happen to anyone else?
@A MyMSTeam Member my WORST time of the day is between 3-7pm....my favorite time is morning and 7-10pm :)
Doesn't want you on drugs yet? The DMDS are supposed to slow the progression, so apparently he's a daft sort of neurologist. Not MS specialist is he? I had such a neurologist to begin with, although he at least referred me to the neurologist I'm with now that specializes in MS. I hope you consider finding a specialist who knows what course MS usually takes, instead of one who seems to be plotting his own course of events for you.
I was pretty fortunate to have an human resources director whose mom's best friend has MS. The misguided advice comes from relatives rather than the few other coworkers who knows of my diagnosis. Pfft as if vitamins do much lol
I was recently diagnosed with hypersomnia its where no matter how long I sleep I never feel rested .i can sleep 15 hrs and still feel tired .dr wants me to exercise but im always to tired
