Stem Cell surgery con's? I'm only finding pros, feedback?
I actually spoke with them today and they are checking with my ins. If Select Health were wise, and this treatment does what it says, they would recoup the price in meds and nuerolgy appt's in less than a year. We'll see what they comeback with? P
There are currently 2 types of stem cell procedures, HSCT and Adipose. Only Adipose is available in the USA and continues to be very controversial because it does not include chemo therapy, and can cost $20,000.00 or more. HSCT can cost up to $50,000.00 just for the procedure, plus any travel and lodging expenses. From what I have seen and read so far, neither procedure has been proven to actually cure MS because they are both relatively new and not enough data is available. I have not seen any information that they can reverse the damage from PPMS, so even if they were free, I would be very leery of either procedure. Facebook and Google searches are filled with groups discussing the pros and cons of both procedures.
There are members here that have had it done and reported successes. Type stem cell therapy, or HSCT, or Adipose into the search box and you will probably find more information. @A MyMSTeam Member
Google the Stem Cell Institute in Panama! Lot's of helpful information and videos.
