Lately I'm having to swallow about 3-5 times to get my food down. I had my tonsils out a few weeks ago, so I'm not sure if it's related to that or if it could be MS.

Anyone else have this problem that is MS related?

That's sounds like a mixture of both issues. Your tonsils and MS. I'm sorry you are dealing with that issue. Notify your Neurologist to see if there is anything to prescribe to at the least help those muscles.

Wow, here's me thinking I was the only one with this problem. I end up choking on the strangest things. I have to drink water with every meal. I never thought it could be MS related.

@A MyMSTeam Member. Yes but, Ms also involves reflex and muscle. Swallowing if I'm not mistaken uses a reflex muscle.....

My ENT got me in earlier this week and said that although it's not expected, that it's not completely out of the realm of possibilities to have problems swallowing after having my tonsils out. Said I should be completely healed in another 2 weeks (6 weeks after surgery) and if I still have issues then, I'll call my neurologist.
