The clinic can do a ultrasound after emptying and they measure on the screen what is left. Very important to have checked to avoid kidney problems.

@CatherineDosemannCrocker: I have lots of trouble with urinary issues. What helps me most is doing just what sullimaybe suggests EVERY TIME you pee. A bit irritating sometimes, but I haven't had many UTIs since I started doing so. Sometimes it works if I just stand up and sit back down right away, other times I have to leave the bathroom, and walk back in and sit down. It is amazing how much urine I produce the second time.

I also have to actively contact my muscles as hard as I can to drain every bit of urine out of my bladder. There isn't anything short of surgery that can be done to fix this particular issue in my case, but if you can push your bladder from outside your body and you can express urine that way, there may be something that could be done other than surgery. I don't know what that something is, though.

Seeing a urologist is probably a good call. My GP gave me a test to see if I was fully emptying my bladder at one point, and determined I was. My symptoms have increased substantially since that time, however.

Update is the infection is gone and the primary care agrees it may be MS related. Wants to wait and see if I have yet another one once done with the antibiotic. Fingers crossed this will be the end of it.

Sounds good. Carol did have severed fecal incontinence but it is well controlled now as I indicated.

Haven't had the fecal issue except once or twice when I was severely ill with the flu and thus lost all control of my body. I have had incontinence issues, but interestingly, it pretty much stopped after having a hysterectomy-oophraectomy to remove sizeable ovarian cysts. It did return briefly while recovering from my knee replacement surgery, which is thought to have been related to the medication as well as the MS. Seeing my primary care tomorrow, so will see what he recommends. He works in constant contact with my neuro and is always very determined to find the cause of any of my ailments as well as not hesitant to send me to someone else for answers.
