I have been on Aubagio for 5 years, and my MRI showed new lesions. My doctor wants me to immediately change medications, and has recommended either Tysabri or Gilenya. I have been reading about both of them, and the side effects are really scaring me. I had no side effects at all with Aubagio. I could really use some advice! TIA!

I have not taken aubagio but I have had MS 34 yrs. so I have taken copoxine and tysabri. I was fine on copoxone for quite awhile but then it wasn't working anymore so my dr. changed me overbto tysabri. He did a test that told him the percentage rate of me gettingbthe brain virus so y8u should ask about that. The main side effect I get from tysabri is migraines but they give me medication befor they start jy infusion now and I don't get the migraines. I know all the medications for MS have side effects but even aspirin has side effects. You have to keep good communication w/ your dr., research, talk to.MS Society, NMSA and know it is trial and error. Everyone's body is different and therefore react differently than the other person. Keep optimistic, meditate, do visualization, eat heathy and think of the things you can do. Have fun and.do not let MS control your life. Your brain is very powerful and a good attitude, staying active is half the battle. Good luck and keep me posted..

I am meeting with my doctor in 2 weeks to discuss new medicines. I have been doing some research and I am really interested in Copaxone. I'm not sure yet about the flush out. Did you have to do it? What does it entail? Thank you for the advice and support. I am still trying to figure out how to navigate this site, so I will add you to my team! :)

That's great @A MyMSTeam Member that u aren't JC+! What I gather bout PML is that it represents same as MS but much worse & can be fatal. But girl I'd sure give Tysabri a shot especially since you aren't JC+.
