Feeling apprehensive. Was due to start Tysabri, but bloods came back JC virus positive. Going to start Fingolimod instead but very worried about side effects. Any advice?

Gilenya didn't work for me at all, it actually made every thing worse. I had major dizziness on that pill and wasn't able to get up, if I moved at all it would make me throw up. My vision also suffered while on the pill. I also relapsed and lost function of one of my legs. So I was only on Gilenya for about 3-4 months, but my side effects lasted me a month or so after I was off the pill. Just from my personal experience I don't recommend it, but I know others have had great success with it.

I have always been JC positive at a very high level and I have been so much better after being on Tysabri - no PML or any new lesions. At the time I was diagnosed I felt so bad I didn't care about what side effects I could possibly suffer as nothing could be any worse than how I was feeling at that time.

I've been on Gilenya for 3 years w/o any problems. I'm taking Ritalin (5 mg. tablets) 'as needed' for fatigue, which comes and goes.
