I have just started a course of 500mg for five days. One day two, so far so good except great difficulty sleeping last night. What side effects have people suffered and what benefits did they bring for you? Was it worth it?

I have only done this med by IV over 5 days. I too find that I don't sleep well but I have come to embrace that during the time it is going on. I get up at 4 AM and clean or cook or read. I find that it passes after about 2 weeks. The other side affect I get is nausea. I am just about to start another round and this time I am requesting a medication to help with that.

I do have to say that I found that it was worth the discomfort. It put some of my more active symptoms to bed for a couple of months.

I had a 3 day course about a year ago, insomnia was a side effect and felt rubbish in general but it sorted out the lhermittes I'd been suffering so it was definitely worth it, gl

I had a 5 day course of this 3 times at the start of my MS life. I suffered from sleep issues only when I foolishly ignored advice I was given and took the tablets later on in the day. I also experienced a racing heart at times after the course was through.
I took omeprazole with it to combat nausea.

Well it's 4:17am here and no sleep yet and last night I was still awake at 5am! I don't seem anymore tired during the day as a result but I am pretty twitchy and very emotional too. I will see the five days out but depending on result over time may not be too keen next time 😒
